If you have found us, we are delighted. This last week has kicked off what will hopefully be the adventure of a lifetime. As I write this I am in the Public Library in Deadwood, South Dakota. Marleigh is in a neighboring room participating in a live lesson for her online school; our friends, Jim and Linda Marshall are three blocks away at a coffee shop and will join us for lunch shortly.

And this is our story….

My daughter Marleigh and I, along with our dog Lilly, have decided to ditch traditional brick and mortar classrooms for 8th grade in exchange for a life on the road. (Because 8th grade is a drag anyway, right?) We have purchased a 37 foot Class A motorhome, and a 2 door Jeep Wrangler, and are hitting the road for a year of life dedicated to exploring the US. We have made a few trips in our beautiful home state of Colorado and have branched out to South Dakota where we have enjoyed the last week exploring the Black Hills, Badlands, Mount Rushmore and other area attractions.

We will head home, back to Thornton, Colorado in two days to collect some more things, do some laundry and to get a WiFi antenna mounted on our rig before heading out on a month long journey. The next trip will take us to Mesa Verde, the Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Tucson, Southern California, Las Vegas, Bryce Canyon, Arches and Zion National Parks before returning to Colorado once again. This next trip will include my dad, “Big Daddy,” who has never seen the Grand Canyon. We hope you will follow us on our adventures. +
